Project SPARTA (Smarter Philippines through Data Analytics R&D, Training, and Adoption) was launched to establish a robust online education, research, and development ecosystem that empowers the growth of the data science and analytics industry while promoting smart governance practices.

Its key objectives include:

• Training and certifying learners in Data Science and Analytics through online courses and live training sessions.

• Building a thriving community of Data Science and Analytics practitioners through strategic partnerships and engagement activities, such as events, hackathons, and open data challenges.
   

Established in 2019, SPARTA was initiated by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) with funding from the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD). It was developed in collaboration with the Analytics and AI Association of the Philippines (AAP) and Coursebank. Since 2023, DAP-SPARTA has migrated its online courses to Linang, DAP's dedicated learning platform.
